Originally built as a Super Production chassis.
This car was put to work straight away at Schubert Motorsport, competing in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Challenge in the hands of Franz Engstler. The following year the car was put aside to be the team spare car.
Chassis 001 would not race again until 2005, where it had been upgraded to full FIA European Touring Car specification for Endurance racing. Claudia Hertgen would go on to win the Nürburgring Endurance Series (VLN) outright that year in 001 and continue to do selected rounds in 2006.
Late 2006 it was sold to MDM Motorsports in Holland where it was used by Tom Coronel in a Dutch winter series away from his World Touring Car and Dakar Rally commitments.
After spending a season racing in the UK in the popular Britcar series. Current owners JC Racing acquired the car early 2010 and has completed a total restoration.
